Don’t Replace Wear. Compensate It

At Roto Pumps, we have always stood by the quality of our pumps and spare parts. Yet, even the most robust equipment experiences wear under rigorous and prolonged use. The challenge isn’t to deny wear—it’s to understand it and manage it smartly. What if you could outsmart wear instead of fighting it?

Due to continuous pumping stator gradually wear down which affects its interference fit, leading to lower flow, reduced pressure, and declining efficiency. Traditionally, addressing this meant costly shutdowns, part replacements, and productivity losses. For decades, the standard approach was reactive: replace components, schedule maintenance shutdowns, or total pump replacement.

But what if wear didn’t have to be a weakness?

With Roto’s Wear Compensation Stator, you no longer have to accept this drop-in performance. Instead of replacing the entire stator, you can simply adjust it using the provided spacer sets – quickly restoring flow, pressure, and pump efficiency while significantly extending stator life. It doesn’t just resist wear—it outsmarts it, turning a natural limitation into a pathway for longer pump life, smoother operations, and measurable cost savings.

Here’s why this innovation is redefining the rules of pumping efficiency:

  1. Turns Wear into Opportunity

Instead of treating wear as the end of a stator’s life, the system compensates for it. With simple spacer adjustments, you restore efficiency and extend life cycles—an approach that’s practical, economical, and sustainable.

  1. Simple, Smart Spacer System

Three color-coded spacers (White, Yellow, Red) eliminate guesswork. Each is designed with precise length variations to maintain the optimal rotor-stator interference, ensuring pumps run at peak efficiency.

  1. Zero Complexity, Maximum Reliability

No complicated electronics, no recalibration. Just torque and go. Maintenance teams appreciate its plug-and-play simplicity while operations enjoy uninterrupted performance.

  1. Longer Pump Lifespan, Lower Cost of Ownership

By minimizing wear-related inefficiencies, the stator reduces energy costs, downtime, and spare part replacements. In the long run, it makes every pump a stronger return on investment.

  1. Built for Harsh Applications

From abrasive slurries and sludge in wastewater to viscous food-grade products and chemicals—the Wear Compensation Stator adapts to the harshest conditions without compromising performance.

  1. Sustainability in Action

Fewer replacements mean less waste. By extending stator life, industries cut down on resource use, aligning operations with green and sustainable practices—a win for both the bottom line and the planet.

  1. Designed Around the User perspective

The brilliance lies in its usability. Operators no longer struggle with sudden breakdowns or unpredictable wear. Instead, they gain predictable, manageable control over pump efficiency—making life on the shop floor easier and safer.

How Wear Compensation Works?

Due to continuous pumping stator gradually wear down which affects its interference fit, leading to lower flow, reduced pressure, and declining efficiency. Traditionally, this meant expensive shutdowns, part replacements, and productivity loss.

Roto’s Wear Compensation Stator offers a smarter solution. Instead of replacing the entire stator, it allows you to compensate for wear by simple adjustments using spacer sets. With this quick and cost-effective mechanism, you can restore performance just follow these steps:

First Adjustment (Yellow Spacers) 🟡

  1. Unscrew all nuts and remove the white spacers, hex head screws, and washers.
  2. Insert the yellow spacers, hex head screws, and washers.
  3. Tighten all nuts evenly, applying equal torque to ensure proper fit.

[Friendly Suggestion: After adjusting the yellow spacer, it’s the right time to place an order for new equipment. This ensures uninterrupted performance, so when the red spacer requires adjustment, your new equipment will already be in place to support a seamless flow.]

Second Adjustment (Red Spacers) 🔴

  1. After further use, if the stator with yellow spacers shows reduced flow and efficiency, repeat the process.
  2. Unscrew all nuts and remove the yellow spacers, hex head screws, and washers.
  3. Insert the red spacers, hex head screws, and washers.
  4. Tighten all nuts evenly, again applying equal torque to achieve proper wear compensation.

Important Note:

  1. The wear-compensation stator is supplied with three sets of spacers: White, Yellow, and Red.
  2. White: Comes pre-mounted on the stator (standard interference, no tightening required).
  3. Yellow: First replacement after volumetric efficiency drops. Remove all white spacers and install yellow ones, tightening all screws uniformly.
  4. Red: Second and final replacement after efficiency drops again. Remove all yellow spacers and install red ones, tightening all screws uniformly.

This wear-compensation arrangement is available for Roto Progressive Cavity Pump models from M591 to 79M.

Take Away

The Wear Compensation Stator isn’t just a spare part—it’s a innovation of smarter engineering. It proves that innovation doesn’t always mean complex technology; sometimes it’s about making maintenance seamless, hassle-free, efficiency predictable, and performance sustainable.

At Roto Pumps, we believe that small innovations create the biggest shifts—and this stator is the perfect example.
